The students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies successfully participated in the Korean Language Contest

The Ninth  Azerbaijan Korean Language Contest was held at Baku State University.

Rector Elchin Babayev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to our country Kim Tong-op presented the event to the participants of the contest. The rector spoke about the intersection of Korea and the historical roots of one of the world's 20 giant countries and said that this factor played a great role in the high level of inter-family relations. Speaking about cooperation with Korean universities, the rector said that new ideas will be realized in the near future.

Ambassador Kim Thong-op spoke about the importance of the competition for the development of the Korean language. He said love and interest in a country resulted in a great deal of history and literature. From this point of view, the IX Azerbaijan Korean Language Contest is also a competition in Korean language.

The Ambassador praised the potential of each of the 10 students who passed the first stage and won the competition.  The jury and participants were presented after the performance of students in the Korean national drums "Samulnori". Then, the teacher of the Nakhchivan State University Lee Jin and the teacher of the Azerbaijan University of Technology Ulviyya Mammadova made a presentation on the teaching of Korean language.

Following the review of students' performances, the winners were determined. First place was taken by Novruzali Sadikhli, 3rd year student of the Korean Studies specialty, Baku State University, 2nd year student of the School of Social Sciences and Psychology, Emiliya Ismayilzadeh, 3rd place, Bachelor's degree in Korean Studies, 4th year student Aynura Allahyarova was awarded. The winners were awarded 500, 400 and 300 manats, while all the participants were awarded with certificates.

It should be noted that at the same time, K-POP performed dance performance and played a lottery game.
