NASRULLA NAIB MAMMADOV

Orientalist

Nasrulla Mammadov was born on 3 May 1965. He completed his secondary education in 1982. From 1983-1985, he did military service. In 1986, he entered  Azerbaijan State University, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Arabic Philology Section, graduating with honors in 1991. The same year he took up a job of a laboratory assistant at the Department of Arabic Philology. From 1993-1997, he was deputy dean of the Evening Department. In 2003, he defended a PhD thesis, obtaining a ScD degree in 2012. He attended scientific symposia in Algeria and Kuwait, and international language courses in Egypt (1998 ,2002). In 1999, he became a teacher at the department of Arabic Philology, and was promoted to an associate professor in 2004 and professor in 2014. Nasrulla Mammadov`s research areas include theoretical issues of Arabic language, and the Quranic style. He has published over 70 papers, two monographs, one education and one methodological handbook and four programs. He has supervised two PhD students to completion. He received certificates of recognition from BSU in recognition of his scientific and pedagogic activity.
