ASGAR ADIL RASULOV

Asgar Rasulov was born on 3 March 1954. In 1976, he graduated from Azerbaijan State University, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Turkish Philology Section. He defended a PhD thesis in 1980, and obtained a ScD degree in 2005 and professorship in 2010. In 1976-1979 and 1989-1995 he worked as a translator in the Republic of Turkey. In 1980, he embarked on a research and teaching activity at the Department of Turkish Language (later renamed Department of Turkish Philology), where his appointments included a senior laboratory assistant, teacher, senior teacher, associate professor and professor. In 2012, Asgar Rasulov was appointed deputy chairman of the National Archive Office by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
His research interests lie in Turkish studies. He has published more than 100 papers and articles, 12 monographs, textbooks and handbooks, as “Turkish language”, “Turkish belles-lettres and literary prose”, “Turkish and Azerbaijani languages in translation studies”. Asgar Rasulov has supervised three PhD students in philology to completion.
He was a member of Azerbaijan Writers Union.
In recognition of his scientific and pedagogic activity he was awarded “Leading education worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan” badge in 2009.
