Anar Karimov was born in 1977. In 1994, he entered  Baku State University, Faculty of Oriental Studies. In 1998, he achieved a bachelor`s degree in Persian language and literature, achieving a master`s degree in 2000. From 2000-2004, he served at “Nizami Dictionary” research laboratory. He has been employed as a teacher at the Department of Persian Philology since 2004. In 2003, Anar Karimov defended a PhD thesis, and got a ScD degree in 2011 and professorship in 2012. He has published several study programs, including “Persian Language”, “Introduction to Persian Philology”, “Introduction to Urdu Philology”, “History and Development of Persian Linguistics”, and five books, four textbooks, one methodological handbook, and tens of papers and theses in local and foreign periodicals.
